Al Condeluci, is the former CEO of CLASS, a nonprofit, community-based support system for folks with all types of disabilities in Pittsburgh, PA from 1973 to 2018. He holds an MSW and PhD from the University of Pittsburgh, where he is on faculty in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and the School of Social Work. He has authored 7 books, including the acclaimed, Interdependence: The Route to Community (1991) and the most recent, The Macro Change Handbook (2015).

1971 – Joins John Kane Hospital Social Service Staff

1973 - Joins CLASS as Program Director

1975 – Awarded an MSW from University of Pittsburgh

1976 – Honorable Discharge from US Army National Guard

1984 – Awarded PhD from University of Pittsburgh

1988 – Joins faculty at University of Pittsburgh

1990 – Releases Interdependence, his first book

1991 – Selected as CLASS CEO

1992 – His book, Interdependence, wins AMA (American Management Association) McMann Award

1995 – Wins BIA-PA Community Hero Award

1996 – His book, Beyond Difference, published –St.Lucie Press

2002 – His book, Cultural Shifting, published – TRN Press

2003 – Concludes successful $5 million Capital Campaign

2007 – CLASS selected as “Best Place to Work”

2010 – Winner of Frieda Shapira Medal – Outstanding Leader

2010 – Launches the IN – www.buildingsocialcapital.org

2011 – CLASS again selected as “Best Place to Work”

2011 – Winner of NABIS (North American Brain Injury Society) Public Policy Award

2011 – Principle Investigator-Engagement Survey of 250 folks

2012 – Winner of Pitt School of Ed Distinguished Alumni Award

2012 – Selected, National Society of Collegiate Scholars
